Ukraine Launches Drone Attacks on Russia’s Primorsk Oil Terminal

(MENAFN) Drones launched by the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) targeted Russia's largest oil terminal on the Baltic Sea, Primorsk, on Friday, Ukrainian media reported.

The strikes hit a vessel docked at the port and a critical pumping station, causing a fire and temporarily halting oil shipments. The attack has disrupted operations at the terminal, which is a key export point for Russian oil.

In addition to the port attack, drones also targeted several oil pumping stations, causing significant disruptions to the primary pipeline system that delivers crude oil to the Ust-Luga terminal, according to the report.

Citing an informed source within the SSU, media noted that the drone strikes were part of a broader, coordinated effort by Ukraine's security services aimed at disrupting Russia's oil infrastructure. This operation underscores the ongoing use of drone warfare as a tactical tool in Ukraine's efforts to weaken Russia’s economic and energy sectors.
