Ex-US adviser accuses CIA of undermining Trump-Ukraine peace plan
In a post on X on Sunday, Flynn alleged that the CIA is “in cahoots with MI6 and others in the EU intelligence community,” reiterating concerns that the so-called “deep state” is acting against Trump. He added, “The EU aka NATO (minus the United States) desperately wants war with Russia,” and claimed that “warmongers in our own administration as well as the Congress want perpetual f’ing war.”
Flynn’s statements echoed comments by US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who accused media outlets of spreading “lies and propaganda” about Russia to undermine Trump’s diplomatic efforts and escalate the conflict.
The former adviser urged Trump to resist narratives promoted by Ukraine’s European supporters, writing, “You need to put your foot down on the situation in Eastern Europe and the total bs you’re being fed by Europe and parts of the USIC.” He also criticized US financial support to Kyiv, accusing Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of suppressing dissent and delaying elections under wartime conditions. “We the People of the United States no longer want this war. We don’t want to spend another penny on a tin pot dictator who arrests opposition voices, including in his own Rada [Congress], and the media,” Flynn said.
These remarks come as backchannel talks continue in Miami between Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev and Trump associates Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, exploring a potential peace framework. Russian officials have accused European NATO members of meddling in the negotiations by diluting US proposals and attempting to use frozen Russian assets to fund Ukraine.
Reports also note that Moscow has praised voices like Flynn and Gabbard for challenging what it calls the Western “war lobby,” with Dmitriev commending Gabbard for revealing the “origins of the Russia hoax” and exposing the so-called “deep-state warmonger machinery.”
