Ukrainian Strike on Bryansk Leaves Seven Dead

(MENAFN) The death count from a Ukrainian missile attack on the Russian city of Bryansk has climbed to seven, according to local Governor Alexander Bogomaz.

In an interview with Russian media, Bogomaz indicated that the strike occurred on Tuesday around 6 pm (1500 GMT), a period when many residents were returning from work.

"As of today, we have seven dead and 42 wounded," Bogomaz stated. "They struck at the civilian population, it was almost six in the evening when people were returning home from work, and there were many residents of the city of Bryansk on the streets. They struck at that time."

In another announcement, the Foreign Ministry highlighted the deployment of British-manufactured weapons systems during the assault.

The ministry underscored that the attack comes amid heightened political and diplomatic initiatives within the Russia-US-Ukraine trilateral dialogue aimed at addressing the Ukrainian crisis.

It accused London and other Western capitals of seeking to obstruct the peace process through a major provocation resulting in civilian casualties.

"The tactic is not new and is used by the sponsors of the Kyiv regime every time a real prospect for a settlement appears," the statement declared.
