Polish Official Says Turkey Is Key Strategic Partner for Poland
(MENAFN) Poland’s Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Bosacki on Monday referred to Türkiye as a “key and strategic partner” for Warsaw.
Speaking during a press briefing at the Polish Foreign Ministry, Bosacki emphasized that Ankara contributes to Poland’s progress in areas such as economic growth, development, and defense cooperation.
He also pointed to a target set during Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s visit to Türkiye in March 2025, which aims to increase bilateral trade to $15 billion.
Bosacki underlined that both countries are NATO members and highlighted Türkiye’s significance for the alliance’s eastern flank as well as the wider Black Sea region.
He further noted that Istanbul could once again serve as a venue for potential Russia-Ukraine negotiations.
Responding to a question about Türkiye’s role in European security, Bosacki said Poland continues to rely heavily on NATO as its main defense framework.
He also pointed to evolving shifts in the US approach toward NATO, stressing the importance of reinforcing national military capabilities.
